*Garden Club Thursdays Weeks 2-8 in Term 1
On Wednesday Jan made the announcement to everyone that she will be leaving us at the end of week 6, with the intention of taking LSL and then retiring. Jan has been an instrumental part of this school for a very long time, and is our longest serving staff member.
Please check and clear your pigeonholes today as there are quite a few with notes needing to be sent home, and credit card statements/forms to be completed.
Reminder of unpaid billing items will also be added to pigeonholes today, to be sent home with students. Please triple check what students owe so we don't have parents paying incorrect amounts into incorrect accounts.
The psych. office will be used for school photos on 14 and 16 May, so there will not be any explicit teaching classes on those days. We will, however, still be having the Tuesday staff training before school, probably in the staff room, at this stage.
Please find amended photo schedule attached.
I have tried to accommodate all requests for changes and to fit in with DOTT scheduling.
Please let me know by COB Monday if you see any major issues with your time slot.
Reminders:
- The photographers are generally quick and tend to run ahead of schedule. I will be sending messages out during the two days if there are gaps and classes wish to get photos taken earlier.
- Sibling photos will be taken during recess/lunch. Students attending both schools will have their photos taken during week 10 with the PS photo schedule.
- Staff who do not work on the day photos are scheduled can come in to join the photo if they wish. *Please just be aware that the schedule may run early on the day.
- Please remind parents to bring students in school uniform on the day.
- Class, all staff and individual staff photos will all be taken in the UCA. Staff individual portraits will be taken throughout the day-it will be your responsibility to ensure you present for your photo as Kapture are unable to chase up everyone.
- Individual student photos will be taken in the psych room.
Primary School Swimming Lessons
The Primary School have swimming lessons over the next two weeks. There will be some changes to the duty roster as they shuffle staff to accommodate for the lessons. There is no change for any JESC staff.
There will be training all day in the staff room, led by Tim and Louise. You are able to go in and out of the staff room during this time, but there will be training on.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea (Cancer Council)
It's that time of year again! The competition is back! The Biggest Morning Tea will be held on Thursday 30 May. Everyone is invited to enter a sweet or a savoury morning tea delight to share. It will be judged by some of the best palates we have here at Joondalup ? If you don’t want to be part of the competition you can still join in the fun and bring something to share, and/or a donation for the cancer council. It will be held in the staff room – and remember to BYO plate/spoon/fork
Risq – Friday 24 May Staff get together
Risq has won out over all other venues as a get together from 5:30pm on Friday 24 May. Sue M has booked out an area and there will be nibbles and a DJ. If you are coming please transfer $15 to the staff association account to pay for the food on the night. It is a great opportunity to get together, and to celebrate our WA Education Awards win in 2023!
We have a new student starting on Monday – his name is Adam. He will be in Room 25. Adam is a talkative student interested in cricket, his favourite team being Pakistan.
*Adam does not have photo permissions. Mum has given permission for his image to be sent to her on SeeSaw, but no permission for Facebook, newlsetters etc. New photo permissions page is attached and has been added to Compass.
