Don't forget to vote this Saturday! If you are at a loose end, and want to vote somewhere special, school is a voting place. The P&C will be selling a democracy sausage too.
On Thursday 15th May at 2:30pm we will be having a lock down drill. A message will be sent out to parents at the time to let them know. Please read through your emergency plan, and prep students for this. The drill will not take longer than about 5 minutes.
Resource Management - Ruth away
Ruth will be away from school for a foreseeable time. We have planned for Ria to come in on Mondays and Wednesdays to take music and sensory sessions. Some sessions may have changed, and Louise has spoken with those classes who are impacted.
Bree Joyce will be replacing Ruth on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will pick up the role of resource management.
Chelsea will be in Kindy now on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Chelsea was in Sustainability with Sandi throughout term 1.
Will be on Friday 9 May. The information is exactly the same as what it was previously, and Craig will be sending out reminder information. The event is to be a positive experience for students. If they will not cope, enjoy it, or are a risk there is no need for them to attend.
Each year school generally finishes on a Friday, with students having their last day on a Thursday, and staff coming into work on the Friday. Schools have an option to "trade off" throughout the year and staff can also finish on the Thursday. We choose this option, and therefore staff who usually work on a Friday work an additional day throughout the year so they can finish on the Thursday.
For us this trade off time looks like;
Team Teach training and refreshers
Manual Handling
Asthma, Epilepsy, Anaphylaxis
First Aid
If you are an EA you will be paid for any time beyond trade off time to complete these PD’s as required.
Have been wonderful this week with all our students -and really flexible given the election on the weekend!
If you have any feedback or suggestions please let me know. They have spoken really positively about everyone at school and how amazing you are with the students and using PODD.
They would like to possibly work with us on a new venture - and would like to work with the expertise staff have in using PODD to communicate with staff.
A reminder to keep the door to the library locked at any time you are not in there. JPS have a student who is seeking to abscond and will try the library door. As an additional measure a book shelf has been moved in front of the external door to try and deter would be escapists.
Please see the attached letter from SCASA.
Kapture Photography will be here in Week 5-Tuesday 27 & Thursday 29 May. We will be having the class and staff photos all in the undercover area as we have done previously.
I am currently planning the schedule for both days. Please see the attached rough draft for class session times.
Please have a look at your class timeslot and let me know if you require a change. Just be aware that we need to accomodate for DOTT, staff work days, student attendance, toileting etc....
If you speak to another class to swap timeslots, please just let me know.
Flyers will be sent to classes in the next week. Please check the names on each form and send home with the correct student.
We have moved the drawer unit of staff forms from Antoinette's office into the staff room.
You will now find the following forms on top of the pigeon holes:
- Staff Incident
- Student Incident
- AIIR * to be used in Workers Comp Claims
- WWCC
- Stat Dec's *These should not be required, but are there in case of emergency
If you notice any of the forms getting low, please let Kirsty or Antoinette know.
